Foundation

Initial production focuses on simple yarns for fabrics. Giacomo Gusmini starts the activity of spinning and twisting in his home in Vertova, with hand looms.

1920

Evolution

Start of collaboration with the son of Giacomo.  The company adapts to the new needs of the market, developing innovative and resistant fabrics for various industrial sectors.

1935

Expansion

Lanificio Gusmini structures and expands, inaugurating new premises in Vertova and completing the production cycle. The company introduces new valuable products and established itself in the the haute couture market, supplying exclusive fabrics to renowned fashion houses.

1952

Affirmation

The plant in Vertova expands and new technologies, such as spinning cards and Octir spinning machines, make their entrance. The increase in production capacity makes it possible to take on larger orders, fostering the company's growth.

1972

The new headquarters

Lanificio Gusmini relocates to Cene in a modern industrial centre with new purification plants and expanded space to support growth. The new factory integrates modern technology with tradition, retaining the old looms for the production of technical fabrics.

2020

Historicity

Recognition of Lanificio Gusmini as Historical Enterprise of Italy by Unioncamere. The award recognises the company's more than 100-year history and its commitment to the promotion of Made in Italy.

2024

The present

Today, Lanificio Gusmini boasts a series of milestones: the consolidation of its leadership in the infinite felts sector and the strengthening of its presence in its two macro sectors. The company looks to the future with confidence, drawing strength from its values and its ability to innovate while respecting tradition.

Environment, commitment and sustainability

Our land is our home, which is why we use energy and resources to safeguard it by purifying the water we use, producing photovoltaic energy and eliminating single-use plastic from all departments.

Thanks to the TarmaTrama project, we make our production more circular by putting leftover yarns and fabrics back to work. We call them RESCUED and include deadstock, quality references and pre-consumer waste.
